genomics research | proteomics research | recruitment/repatriation
The Institute has been growing and evolving for 8 years. Our goal is to create conditions conducive to meeting new objectives, objectives that are increasingly ambitious and diverse, and more innovative than ever.
The most pressing needs of the ACRI for the next five years: :
Genomics research: $3.5M
Genomics form the cornerstone of the ACRI. This discipline seeks to decode and understand all the genetic information contained in an organism. The development of new technologies and tools is increasingly important to ensuring research competitiveness and to fighting cancer on several fronts, through the development of new diagnoses and targeted treatments. The money raised will enable us to maintain and build on our ultra-modern research facilities.

Proteomics research: $2.5M
Proteomics and genomics are complementary disciplines, and we foresee great advances in the fight against cancer thanks to the convergence of these two approaches. Proteomics is the study of large series of proteins, their location in the cell, their variants and their interrelations. Specific proteomic profiles can thus be associated with the normal or pathological functioning of a cell. The money raised will enable the ACRI to acquire leading-edge equipment and hardware to provide for research advances in this key field.

Recruitment/Repatriation: $2.5M
In order to remain at the forefront of scientific progress, the ACRI must maintain its research expertise and recruit the best research professionals. Among other things, the ACRI wishes to repatriate talented young researchers from the Atlantic region who have left the area to pursue their careers.

Total : $8.5M
